National basketball player Dominic Vincente is hoping to represent Guyana at the Commonwealth Games and says it would be an honour to don the Golden Arrowhead at the event.
“Being part of the Commonwealth Games to me it would be great becaue it would the first time at a games of that nature for me. It is not something I would take for granted becaue representing Guyana is something I will always want to do,” Vincente mentioned.
Vincente, who was also part of a 3×3 high-performance camp recently held in Guyana, noted that he has had to adjust his preparations.
“Some of the things would be about being in better condition, becaue the game is played faster and more physical, being more vocal and playing defense. These are things we learned at the camp and I gave had to change my preparations because it would not just help me in 3×3 but also in 5×5,” Vincente highlighted.
This will be the first time Guyana fields a basketball team at the Commonwealth Games, and Vincente is eager to make history.
