Police stated that, acting on information received, at about 06:18 hrs a party of officers went to the Onderneeming Sand Pit (Sweet Hole), Essequibo Coast, where the body of the wanted man was disdiscovered.
Fredericks’ body was found lying motionless, face down, in an open area surrounded by vegetation.
According to a police report, he was clad in long black jeans and a long-sleeved jersey. Also found next to the body were a pair of rubber slippers, a black ski mask, and a grey cap with suspected blood stains.
Upon examination, a gaping wound was observed on the right side of the deceased’s head, along with suspected gunshot wounds to the upper right side of his back. Both areas were covered in blood.
Crime scene ranks who processed the area also discovered a single mattress, several empty snack packets, one live 7.62 x 39mm round of ammunition, two cards of Panadol tablets, and several pieces of clothing a short distance from the body.
The body was subsequently transported to the Suddie Hospital, where a doctor on duty officially pronounced him dead.
