Guyana positioned as key energy partner amid a global supply gap

Guyana is emerging as a critical energy partner at a time when stable and reliable suppliers are increasingly vital to the global economy.

This is according to Chevron upstream President Robert Clay Neff, who has underscored the country’s growing strategic importance.

Delivering remarks at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston on Monday, Neff highlighted Guyana’s role as a democratic and responsible energy-producing nation capable of helping to meet rising global demand.

“Stable, democratic, and responsible energy-producing nations have become more strategically important than ever. Guyana is increasingly playing that role,” he said.

Neff added that Guyana is rapidly strengthening its position as a key partner in the Western Hemisphere and a strategic ally of the United States.

The Chevron executive also praised the leadership of President Dr Irfaan Ali, noting that the country is navigating a transformative period marked by rapid economic growth and expanding energy production.

He further expressed confidence that Guyana will continue to play a significant role in global energy supply.

Neff also emphasised Chevron’s long-term commitment to Guyana, building on the foundation established by Hess and other partners, while highlighting the company’s deep offshore expertise and collaborative approach.

“Guyana will play a major role in delivering the energy the world needs for decades to come, and Chevron is proud to partner in driving that progress,” he noted.
