US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will travel to Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana from August 9-12, the US Department of State said.
In Trinidad and Tobago, Landau will meet Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to strengthen bilateral ties, including talks on shared energy and security priorities and economic cooperation.
In Guyana, he will meet President Dr Irfaan Ali and Cabinet members to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation and investment opportunities, with a focus on collaboration in strategic sectors including energy and critical minerals.
The visit underscores the United States’ commitment to strengthening partnerships across the hemisphere and advancing shared priorities, including regional security, energy resilience and economic prosperity, the Department of State said.
